Indications |
Topical/Cutaneous Nail fungal infections Adult: As 5% nail lacquer. Apply onto infected fingernails or toenails once or twice wkly after filing and cleansing, allow to dry. Continue until nail is regenerated and affected areas cured. Usual treatment duration: 6 mth (fingernails) and 9-12 mth (toenails). Topical/Cutaneous Skin fungal infections Adult: As 0.25% cream. Apply once daily in the evening after cleansing for at least 2-3 wk (up to 6 wk for foot infections). Continue for 3-5 days after cure is attained. |

Avoid contact with eyes, mucous membranes and ears. Pregnancy, lactation. |
Adverse Reactions |
Skin irritation with erythema and pruritus; slight transient burning sensation (rare); hypersensitivity reactions. |
Mechanism of Actions |
Amorolfine acts by interfering with synthesis of sterols required for functioning of fungal cell membranes. It is active in vitro against a wide variety of pathogenic and opportunistic fungi and possesses variable activity against Aspergillus spp. |
